Forest disturbances are mapped only within the primary humid tropical forest mask from Turubanova et al (2018) with annual (Asia geographies: 2001-2019) forest loss (Hansen et al 2013) and mangrove (Bunting et al 2018) removed.
Koperasi Unit Desa Harapan Jaya (HJ Village Cooperative) is an independent smallholder organization based in Dak Jaya Village, Binjai Hulu District, Sintang District, West Kalimantan Province. Harapan Jaya is a legal entity cooperative established on September 5, 2001, which consists of independent smallholders and is divided into 16 Forest Farmers Groups (KTH), which are KTH A to P. Harapan Jaya has 282 independent smallholders with a plantation area of 742 Ha. KUD Harapan Jaya has the vision to achieve a firm KUD Harapan Jaya to develop member's welfare. KUD Harapan Jaya mission are: 1. Serve the members sincerely, thoroughly, and efficiently and could provide real economic benefits for cooperative members 2. Defend for the life and welfare improvement of cooperative members 3. Engage the members in implementing the quality, environmentally, secure and independent palm oil plantation business governance in compliance with RSPO and ISPO independent smallholders’ standards 4. Develop a synergistic and mutually beneficial relationship between cooperatives, members, independent smallholders and palm oil mills. KUD Harapan Jaya was developed to implement sustainable and environmental plantation management. KUD Harapan Jaya is committed to achieving it through support and partnerships with the Sintang District Agriculture and Plantation Agency, WWF Indonesia, Fortasbi, and PT SAM, and the members who are willing to commit to sustainable palm oil management implementation. Technically, the organizational development from WWF Indonesia and Fortasbi has greatly contributed to the implementation of sustainable plantation practices in Sintang District by KUD Harapan Jaya.
